Love, without the fear of losing?

Just watched "Love of Siam", a thai film about 2 boys whose love for each other goes beyond brotherly love. Now, there was a part where the main actor said that his greatest fear is loneliness. Because, when you don't have someone, you feel so lonely. But yet even when you have someone, the fear of losing him/her, makes you feel lonely as well.

He went on to say, can you love someone, without the fear of losing him/her?

Can you?

Sinema @ Old School

Was introduced to this fantastic place by my brother John and went there on Sat afternoon. It was also surprising to see Kate there.

Now, introducing Sinema @ Old School. It's a cinema that shows local films ONLY. Now many of you might think "Jack Neo", but I beg you to read on.

It is a cosy place to showcase our country's own film and a channel to inspire young people like us to broadcast our films. I may not be a film maker (I leave this to my dear frens from New Media and etc,) but John and I are big supporters of the local scene

The film that I watched was 'Lucky 7', a film made by 7 different producers who each produced 10 - 12 min of film. Each film maker continues the next segment having only watch the last min of what the previous film maker made.

A daring move i would say. And, if you were to patronise this place, please, do not go with the expectation of a Jerry Bruckheimer or Tsui Hark movie, but rather, go with an open mind to have a taste of nice local flavour.

Will go there again.

Old Customs vs New Blood

Just wanted to rant about a few things

Change of AWARE leadership

AWARE ( Association of Women And Research ) has a new President and Exco on March 28. This move prompted fury of critics, not from the public, but from old and veteran members.

It seems like these veterans are not receptive to changes and are looking to have a vote of No-Confidence next month.

AWARE is a non profitable voluntary group. Not a listed company. Not even a SME. Its purpose is to serve the calls of woman in Singapore. But yet, I feel, the whole leadership change has been a victim of internal politics and ,of cos, media exaggeration.

Every reign will have an end. The old guard's time have ended. Why not give the fresh blood a chance? Why give them so much trouble? It was known that the new President even risked her job with DBS to take up this role. Why more must she do to convince the old guard? And why make her job so difficult?

It goes the same for any organization. Every President sort of faces problems, managing the present and old members of the organization. I really empathize with Ms Lau as she tries to convince the veterans. Are we too caught up with old traditions or even stupid customs to listen to the older ones just because they have "been there done that?" I feel this incident certainly reflects the behavior of our society, that it is still not willing to let young fresh blood take the front.

Sad.

Ironic

It is ironic that I was just talking about not letting the things I have to do stop me from loving someone.

Had quite a handful to do tonight actually but had an opportunity to spend quality time with baby and I chose it. I was glad to have baby watch movie and shop with me. Really enjoyed her company a lot, although she was too caught up smsing at times.

Watched the movie "Confessions of a shopaholic"

There's quite a lot to take away from this show, especially on managing one's finance, friendship and love. 3 stars out of 5 for me. Worth the watch on a weekday!

A few shows that are coming up interests me a lot, especially Knowing and Friday the 13th. It does not help that exams is just round the corner.

"Never let something to be done be more important than someone to be loved."

As I am now waiting for baby to finish her project, I begin to ponder over the things my bro says.

My bro is a great man. Everyday he strives to make someone smile or happy. That is his objective in life. Unlike most of us, who chases after the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

"Never let something to be done be more important than someone to be loved."

Everyday, there is so much work to be done, be it work or school. How many of us are guilty of spending more time burying our heads in the piles of files or notes?

Is academic excellence or career satisfaction so much more intriguing than your loved ones?

How about taking a break from your books and pens and have a small talk with someone close to you. Your mum, your bf/gf, your siblings or even your pet dog.

Work is work. But nothing is greater than the love of mankind.

Go on, hug the person you love now.

Was thinking about what happened yesterday on the road and suddenly everything just blanked....

The next thing I know, I am fast approaching a kerb near NUH

My heart in my mouth as i braked hard

Fish tailed

But remained in control

There's a price to pay for my carelessness.

A long scratch on the bottom left of my fairing, destroying the word Yamaha

Perhaps a good reminder for me.
